MIRAKA

The Farm

Miraka is a sharemilking operation 43km from Invercargill in the Edendale district. Combined soil types of Waikiwi and Woodlands make up the farm’s 230 hectares. Due the cool temperate climate of Southland and reliable summer rainfall Miraka receives an average rainfall of 1,118mm.

The farm is home to 580 dairy cows. Two thirds flat to undulating with the balance rolling to steeper sidings. The farms 40 aside herringbone shed is centrally sited with the longest cow walk being approximately 1,500 metres.
